Winkler Co-op recently donated over $7,000 to the Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation. The funds were raised from last month's Fuel Good Day September 19, where 10 cents from every litre of fuel sold was earmarked for charity.

Foundation Board Member Linda Pearce explains the money will be used for palliative care, "it touches everybody at some point in their life," she says.

She notes donations help projects like adding or refurbishing new palliative care rooms.

"It's a big deal for families to have a comfortable space during this time," Pearce says.

"I'm just so grateful we have a community like we have," Foundation Chair Debra Enns says. "Everybody is willing to give back... how do you express your gratitude?"

Co-op Gas Bars across Western Canada took part as well, including Sun Valley Co-op which donated $2,600 were given out to the Red River Valley Food Bank and Rhineland Area Food Bank.
