Emergency Crews responded to a head-on-collision between a car and a transport truck on Highway 3 earlier this afternoon.

The incident happened roughly two miles north of the intersection of Highway 3 and 14 between Morden and Winkler.

RCMP say a male driver was traveling northbound when his car collided with a southbound truck.

The driver and lone occupant of the car sufferered serious injuries. The male driver and lone occupant of the truck was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Highway 3 remains closed at this time. A Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is on the scene.

"They will be able to paint us a better picture of what occurred," RCMP Spokesperson Tara Seel says. "But at this time alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision."

The highway was closed for a number of hours.
