February 20th, 2018

Police were dispatched to a residence on 7th Street for a domestic assault complaint. Police arrived and spoke with a female who was visibly upset, crying, and difficult to understand.  The female advised that her boyfriend was at the residence and they got into a dispute, but he had already left.  As police were dealing with the female, the boyfriend returned to the scene.  It was determined that the female had a no contact/communication order with her boyfriend but they had been staying together. The female disclosed that during their dispute, the boyfriend pushed her from behind and then grabbed her by the neck and pushed her against the wall.  When speaking to the boyfriend, he disclosed that the female jumped on his back and grabbed his neck, ripping his shirt and tearing off his necklace.  Both individuals were arrested for domestic assault.  The 20-year-old female was charged with Assault and Fail to Comply with conditions of an Undertaking.  The 31-year-old male was charged with Assault.  Both will be appearing in Morden Provincial Court in April.
