Winkler Police have made two arrests in a meth trafficking investigation that began early February.

On March 16 at approximately 1:00 a.m Winkler police with assistance from Morden Police Service conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Civic believed to be transporting methamphetamine into Winkler for the purpose of trafficking.  

The two occupants in the vehicle were arrested at the time of the traffic stop and were found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine.

A 27-year-old female resident of Winkler will be charged with Possess Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Possess Morphine.

A 26-year-old male resident of Winkler is facing charges of Possess Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, as well as Mischief over $5000 in relation to damage caused to a patrol car while in custody.

Both suspects were released on Promises to Appear in Morden Provincial Court on April 25, 2017.  

Police say with the suspects not yet being formally charged, their names will not be released at this time.
