Aurel Pantel is back for a third round as Reeve for the RM of Lorne, and he made it in with 690 votes.

Pantel beat out Dan Ronceroy who snagged 431 votes.

"I'm feeling pretty good, feeling upbeat . . . this will be my third term as Reeve and I've been a councillor since 1991," says Pantel. "I've always dedicated my life to the RM of Lorne, and treated everybody fairly."

He says the RM is looking at bringing natural gas into the municipality, as it would have a great impact on the area. "If you look at Morden and Winkler, way back in the day before they had gas they were small, they were not growing. [Then] they got gas and they just exploded."

Pantel adds, the cost of electricity is constantly increasing, and natural gas can be a cheaper, cleaner way for farmers to dry their crops. He is also a farmer himself and juggled campaigning while harvesting his crops.

Pantel says the people filling council seats will see little change, and that is due to perseverance.

"I'd sincerity like to thank all of my supporters, and I will certainly not let them down. I will persevere as I always have, treat everybody equal and fair, and will proceed into the next four years."
