On the day the Home Run Derby was centre stage at the 91'st Mid Summer Classic in Denver, Tristan Peters was selected in the seventh round of the 2021 Major League Baseball Draft.

Peters, along with his mom Gabi, dad Jake and brothers Karsten and Teemu were in Savannah, Georgia the day the Brewers made their seventh round pick Monday afternoon.

The 21-year-old Winkler product is playing summer baseball in Savannah after completing his freshmen season at Southern Illinois.

The Salukis outfielder batted .355 with six home runs, 55 rbi and 14 stolen bases in 60 games and was named to the 2021 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division 1 All – Midwest Regional Team.

Peters, who played every inning of every game in center field for the Salukis and finished the season with a perfect fielding percentage and two outfield assists, will meet with the Brewers in about a week.

Clayton Dreger asked Tristan Peters what his reaction was when the Milwaukee Brewers made him their seventh round selection in the 2021 MLB Draft
