With the mass cancelling of summer events, one local business is hoping to give food trucks an opportunity to have a presence in the Pembina Valley.

Friesen Sales and Rentals has offered space at their location in the Stanley corridor between Morden and Winkler on highway 3 to set up their rigs.

Owner Ike Friesen explains it's one of the aspects he'll miss most about local summer festivals, as well as a chance to collaborate with an industry that might be feeling the impacts of COVID-19 more than most.

"It's good if everyone can find jobs and work... It's just better for the whole economy if we can keep things rolling," Friesen says.

He notes one thing that's impressed him about the local business community is their willingness to see each other as collaborators, not just competitors.

The location in the corridor is ideal, Friesen says. "A lot of people working on this stretch here, so I think they'd stop in."
