A single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning has claimed a life.

Just after 3 am on Saturday, officers from Pembina Valley RCMP Detachment responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Provincial Road 432, approximately five kilometres south of Highway 23 in the RM of Thompson.

The police investigation has determined that the vehicle was travelling southbound on PR 432 when it collided with a guard rail. The vehicle then entered the ditch where it was partially submerged in water.

The driver of the vehicle and the lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on the scene.
