Mel Davidson

Championship Saturday was a huge day at the Access Events Centre.  A packed house to watch our Pembina Valley Hawks compete for Bronze, and a buzzing arena along with a TV crew for the Gold Medal game to see who will be the top team in the country in Women's under 18 hockey.

We had a chance to catch up with the head of high performance female hockey for Hockey Canada, Mel Davidson.  She has been here all week scouting the players.

Saturday was also Esso Fun Day, where a number of young "wannabe" hockey stars had a chance to join some of these elite players for a morning fun, skating drills, pizza, and the Bronze Medal Game.

With the Gold Medal game taking place at 7, we also got to have a chit chat with Jason Reynolds, manager for the St. Albert Slash who are facing the Harfangs Du Troilet for the championship!

A big thank you to everyone who came out, the volunteers the players and the City of Morden for putting on this amazing event! Check out some of the pictures from the last day of the 2017 Esso Cup!
