A new locally owned and operated auction service has started up in the region. Pembina Valley Auction Services is ready to serve you with Joel Heide behind the new business.

“I was born in Winkler, and have lived in the area my whole life,” explained Heide. “Growing up I can remember, from a young age, going to auctions with my father and grandfather, and finding them very intriguing.”

Having grown up with horses and getting involved in competing at rodeos, Heide started going to horse auctions as both a buyer and a seller.

“This is when I really got to see that auctions were a great way to get buyers and sellers together, and realize the true market value of a product.”

One day he saw a course being advertised to become an auctioneer, and thought it was something he would like to try. Fast forward to this past Summer, and Heide was talking to a neighbour, and they started tossing around the idea of starting up an auction company.

“I said I would do some digging, and see what I could come up with,” he noted. “We saw an opportunity for the area to hold regular consignment sales, and wanted to provide people with

Joel is a long-time rodeo competitor and horse riding enthusiast the ability to sell at auction, even if they only had a few items to sell.”

Pembina Valley Auction Services will be holding regular consignment sales throughout the year starting in January, along with some specialty consignment sales along the way.

“With members of our team having a strong background in agriculture, we are open do doing farm, livestock, estate and household auctions across southern Manitoba,” noted Heide.

So why consider selling through an auction service, rather than other selling options?

“Selling via auction versus many other methods gives people the true value for their items,” stressed Heide. “With an auction, you don't have to worry about things such as advertising, making time to show the items you have to sell, it’s all taken care of for you.”

And the thrill of being part of an auction isn’t only reserved for those bidding.

“I really enjoy helping people get the true value of what they are selling,” said Heide. “It can be a bit of an adrenaline rush when two people really see the value of products, and the bidding goes up quick.”

Pembina Valley Auction Services will be holding its first online consignment sale starting January 14th, 2022, and is taking consignments until January 12th. To consign, or view, call/text 204-362-4786, or email admin@pvauctionservices.ca
