The Pembina Valley Hawks rebounded after a tough loss (4-2) in game one of their semifinal matchup against the defending Manitoba Female "AAA" Midget Hockey League champion Central Plains Capitals with a 5-1 win on the road.

"Today we focused on a lot of objectives. We had tasks for the girls and they did it," said Hawks coach Dana Bell. "They came out and worked hard. We told them, they had to come out and play it one shift at a time, and play a full sixty minutes. To rebound back from Wednesday night, and win 5-1 is a big boost for us for sure."

Pembina Valley jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period. Alyssa Alderson and Ginny Grenier scored for the Hawks. The Capitals would get on the board before the period was over Amy Klippenstein beat Pembina Valley's goaltender Halle Oswald.

The Hawks went on to score three unanswered goals to secure the 5-1 win. Katelyn Heppner, Makenzie McCallum, and Chelsea Dearsley tallied for the Hawks.

Game three of this best-of-five semifinal series goes in Morden Sunday at 5:15 p.m.
