RCMP have released details regarding a two vehicle collision south of Altona at the corner of Provincial Road 243 and Highway 30. Both the Gretna Fire Department and Altona/Rhineland Emergency Services, along with RCMP officers and ambulances, responded to the call around 3:20 p.m. Saturday.

The investigation has found one vehicle was going north on Highway 30, and had stopped at the intersection of PR 243. When that vehicle started to proceed into the intersection a second vehicle rear-ended the first.

There were minor injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 72-year-old male, was issued a ticket under the Highway Traffic Act for Following too Closely.
