Winkler's skyline got a little bit lower this morning.
The Parkland Grain Elevator on Park Street was taken down.
Part Owner Frank Reimer says a lot of prep work went into the project.
He says before they tore it down, the scale and some machinery had to be removed.
Reimer says they've had to abandon the elevator because of bad buckwheat crops in the last few years.
He says over time, the elevator became a fire hazard.
Reimer says the weight of the structure took it down in the northwest direction.
