A driver from Winnipeg has been charged following a two-vehicle crash west of Roland late Saturday afternoon.

According to Manitoba RCMP, an SUV, driven by a 40-year-old man from Winnipeg, was travelling east on Highway 23 when it entered the intersection of Highway 3 before safe to do so, in an attempt to turn north. It was then that it struck a southbound SUV, driven by a 41-year-old man from Winkler.

While there were no reported physical injuries, RCMP say two female passengers of the southbound SUV, ages 34 and 3, were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the first SUV was charged under the Highway Traffic Act for proceeding before safe to do so.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
