Investigation is on-going in a string of thefts that happened overnight Sunday in Gretna.

According to RCMP, an initial report was made Monday morning that someone had rummaged through and stolen several items from an unlocked vehicle on Montcalm Avenue. The complainant also informed authorities that he'd seen on a community social media page that other people had things stolen overnight as well, and that a suspect had been identified and was in the process of returning things to their rightful owners.

RCMP say further victims have since been identified and statements will be obtained. Police add, a male suspect has also been identified but has not been arrested as of yet, noting more statements are needed in order to determine the next course of action.

As for charges, RCMP say it will depend on the evidence obtained and if the victims would like to go that route.
