Manitoba’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre is reporting the Red River is expected to crest in between Thursday and Sunday. The Red is above bank at St. Adolphe and may rise above bank at St. Jean. The Red River Floodway is expected to be in operation until the end of October.

Pumping operations for internal drainage at ring diked communities is underway at Dominion City, Morris, St. Adolphe, and Emerson. Depending on water levels, pumping operations may be required at Rosenort.

Crews continue to monitor water levels and local conditions, but no full dike closures are expected to be required at this time. A partial closure was constructed at St. Adolphe yesterday. The closure involved filling in the ditch at PR 200, however, the travelling surface remains open and is not impacted by this partial closure.

The Roseau River and Rat River have either peaked or are near their peak. The Roseau is reported to be out of bank near Dominion City, at Provincial Road 218, and near Stuartburn.

Meanwhile, beginning Thursday of this week, the daytime high is expected to reach nearly double digits, which will result in a more rapid runoff from snow still lingering from last week’s early season winter storm.
