The above is the R360 News broadcast from Friday, May 15th. You can check out all the videos the Rosenort School Broadcasting Club has created on their YouTube page.

Over the past few weeks we’ve shared several stories of how teachers and students are finding ways to connect during this time of learning at home. Today’s story comes from Rosenort School, and it’s Broadcasting Club. That’s right... a broadcasting Club!

Vice Principal Tyler Kornelsen, or Mr. K as he’s known on the air during their webcasts, connected with us to talk about how they’ve still been able to keep the Club going even though the members are spread across the region.

That’s pretty cool... having famous special guests appear on the daily morning announcements webcast. What a way to keep everyone engaged.

Morning Show Co-Host Chris Sumner also spoke with we’ll Grade 6 student Bryn Lavergne about what it’s been like to be part of the Broadcasting Club since it started in February 2019, and how she’s still been able to be a correspondent from home.

Tyler also shared with Chris how the Broadcasting Club ties back to the curriculum.

And if you didn’t catch it earlier, R360 News as it’s called is still broadcasting morning announcements live every school day with students submitting clips from home as correspondents. Just another example of how we are finding ways to make things work in this era we’re living in.
