Winkler Police Service has responded to several collisions this week, including Wednesday evening on Pembina Avenue which left both vehicles having to be towed from the scene.

Around 9:15pm, the driver of a westbound car on Pembina Avenue attempted to make a left turn onto 6th Street South, and did not notice an eastbound SUV on Pembina Avenue. The two vehicles collided at the intersection, Winkler Fire Department also called to the scene in the aftermath.

No serious injuries were reported. A ticket was issued to the driver of the westbound vehicle.

Meanwhile, Thursday around 4 p.m.  a vehicle facing north had stopped for the stop sign at the intersection of 7th Street South and Pembina Avenue. It then entered the intersection before it was safe to proceed. An eastbound pickup truck on Pembina Avenue was unable to avoid the collision. No injuries were reported, but both vehicles were towed from the scene.

And both police and firefighters responded to a call about an hour later around 5 p.m. Thursday in the Superstore parking lot. The driver of a mini-van mistakenly pressed on the accelerator which caused the vehicle to collide with an unattended car in the parking lot. There were no injuries, but the vehicle which caused the damage was towed from the scene.
