Thursday morning PembinaValleyOnline, with the assistance of Mountain City Aviation in Morden, flew over the R.M.'s of Stuartburn and Piney to capture aerial footage of the current overland flooding situation caused by heavy rainfall Saturday through Tuesday morning. Based on Rainwatcher reports, and information released by Environment Canada, anywhere between 5 to 10 inches of rain fell on the region.

Floodwaters in the R.M. of Stuartburn may have finally plateaued according to one councillor. Water levels in local rivers and low spots have been rising since the extreme rainfall event walloped the region, but Councillor Ed Penner is fairly certain it crested Wednesday night, only one foot away from taking out a vital bridge on Provincial Road 302.
