Wednesday morning brought another In the Mayor's Chair on CFAM Radio 950, with Morning Show Host Chris Sumner connecting with Morris Mayor Scott Crick.

This morning's agenda covered the Manitoba Stick Curling Championships happening this weekend in Morris.

"That's an exciting event, and one that's a little bit newer in the last few years," said Crick. "We're very proud to state that we have the provincial defending champion in Resby Coutts, he's going to certainly be at the event, and so will I on the Friday night. I'm looking forward to seeing some great stick curling. I think, as we know, for a lot of people stick curling has been a way for them to stay involved in the sport, or to introduce them to the sport. I know the Morris Curling Club has done very, very well with their stick curling program, and we're very proud to host that."

Also, it was just last week PembinaValleyOnline shared the latest update regarding the new early learning centre/daycare being built in Morris, and the Mayor had additional news to pass along today.

"Good news piece number one is they (the board) were able to hire a new director which is fantastic," noted Crick. "One challenge remains, and that's we're still looking for additional ECEs and individuals who would like to work at the Centre."

Good news piece number two is related to training those additional staff members right in Morris. To find out how that's looking, you need to listen to the conversation with Scott and Chris, below.
