A motorist traveling on Highway 31 south of Darlingford this past Saturday came across a tragic scene.

Shortly ahead of 4 p.m., July 17, Pembina Valley RCMP received a report from a passing motorist that there was a motorcycle and injured driver in the ditch.

When officers arrived at the site of the collision, the 51-year-old male driver from the area was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The initial investigation has determined the motorcycle was traveling northwest on a curve, left the roadway, and struck an approach. The driver was thrown from the motorcycle. The RCMP say he was wearing a helmet.

An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
