A 20 year old Morden man is facing trafficking charges after a Winkler Police Service led drug investigation led to the seizure of a half kilogram of cocaine.

Monday night, with the assistance of Winnipeg Police, Winkler officers conducted a traffic stop related to the ongoing investigation on Highway 23 in the R.M. of Morris

The driver, and sole occupant, was placed under arrest. An ensuing search of the vehicle yielded cocaine with an estimated street value of $45,000.

The man has been charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, and has been released on a Release Order with several conditions. He has a court date of July 28th in Morden Provincial Court.

In a news release issued late Tuesday evening, Winkler Police thanked Winnipeg Police Service for its assistance in the investigation, noting the valuable inter-agency cooperation has again proven an effective tool in combating drug trafficking.
