A Lowe Farm mother is still in the fight for her life after a tragic accident on October 9 left her seriously injured and claimed the life of her 14 year old daughter Adrienne.

Family friend Tammy Peters explains prayers are gratefully accepted as the family, including Lillian's husband Don and their children Rylan and Jillana, process the unimaginable circumstances.

However, Peters says the small community has rallied around the Groenings.

"Like family, we help anyone who needs support and prayer," she says. "The people here are awesome."

A scholarship fund has also been started in Adrienne's name to send kids to camp and pay sports fees for children who couldn't otherwise participate.

"It's very fitting to use the money to support the things that were important to her," Peters says, adding Adrienne loved hockey as well as volleyball and basketball in school. Adrienne was also a regular at Pembina Valley Bible Camp.

"Her memory will remain alive," Peters says.
