The M-S-T-W Planning District continues to deal with growth in the region.

Chair Alex Fedorchuk says there are two sides to the final numbers.

He says total permits were up to 518 from 505 in 2005, but the value dropped from $65-million to $56-million.

Fedorchuk says although the number of projects were up last year, they were smaller in size.

In 2006, Morden had 103 residential permits, Winkler had 100, the RM of Thompson had 5, and the RM of Stanley had 68.

Fedorchuk adds the continued growth over the past few years in the district has forced them to build a new office.

They hope to be using the new facility at the corner of 5th Street and Thornhill in Morden by early spring.
