The community helped raise nearly $1,300 for Gateway Resources last week Friday with a car wash fundraiser, but CEO Kim Nelson says the emotional support was harder to quantify.

"The intangible effects of having the community support and Mayor Martin Harder staying with us for the afternoon was amazing," Nelson says.

Participants had come up with the idea to hold a car wash and Nelson says it was a huge success.

"It was fun and everyone... staff, participants, the community, really enjoyed it," she says.

The funds will go towards purchasing a vehicle to transport individuals to programs and activities throughout the community.

The car wash event was the first of its kind for Gateway Resources
