An Altona woman recently sought medical treatment outside of the country.

Instead of being on a waiting list indefinitely friends and family suggested Rose Hildebrand seeks other options.

When professional care and no waiting list came up for a hospital in Paraguay, Hildebrand seized the opportunity.

For four thousand dollars she received excellent treatment and her husband was provided with a bed and meals in the hospital.

This was Hildebrand's second hip replacement.

The first one was painful and discouraging with numerous restrictions.

Her new hip has next to no restrictions and she adds she is frequently walking without her cane.

Hildebrand notes if she hadn't gone to Paraguay for surgery she'd only be getting the procedure done in October.

She says, that would have been a very painful summer.
