A Morden man was arrested in Winker Monday following a drug trafficking investigation.

As part of the Winkler Police Service investigation, officers pulled a vehicle over in a parking lot in the 200 block of 1st Street shortly after 3:30 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle was placed under arrest and a search of the vehicle, with assistance from Police Service Dog Juno, resulted in the seizure of 27.24 grams of methamphetamine valued at approximately $2,720, a small quantity of cocaine, $305 in Canadian currency, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

According to information released by Winkler Police, the driver of the vehicle, a 40-year-old male, will be charged with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Property (Canadian currency) Obtained by Crime.  

He was released on an undertaking, with a court date of October 25th in Morden.
