For the 8th time, the Morden Police Service is teaming up with Special Olympics Manitoba for another Polar Plunge event, heppening this year on March 16th at Lake Minnewasta. Morden Police Sergeant Chris Flook has taken the plunge each of those years!

"It is shocking every time, but it's better in the fact that I can shut my brain off for like 2 minutes and get in there and get out and then start cheering for people"

As in previous years, the event is raising funds for Special Olympics Manitoba, Flook talked about their connection to Special O.

"It's great that we're raising money for A cause that has a direct relation back to our area and even if you don't know an athlete, you probably know someone who knows an athlete."

Signing up is as simple as heading to their website and registering. If you're not looking to take the plunge you can go to that same link and donate to someone who will be jumping into the frozen lake!

For those that are jumping in for the first time, Flook offered some tips for beginners.

"In my experience, wear button shirts because it's much easier to take those off versus trying to pull a wet, cold, icy shirt over your head, it is tough.
