More than $3 billion in funding has been earmarked for Manitoba infrastructure projects in the next decade.

"Creating a greener, cleaner Manitoba that is resilient and adaptable to climate change will sustain the environment for future generations," Sustainable Development Minister Rochelle Squires says.

More than half the Investing In Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) funds will be earmarked for improving transportation with a 40/33 percent cost-sharing model with the feds and the Province respectively.

Another $112 million has been designated for rural and Northern communities for improving food security and access to broadband connectivity and infrastructure with a 50/33 percent cost-sharing model between federal and municipal governments.

"The Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program will significantly benefit all Manitoba municipalities and help build stronger communities," Association of Manitoba Municipalities (AMM) President Ralph Groening says. "We are pleased to participate on the consultative committee for the various infrastructure funding streams and will continue to work together to deliver municipal infrastructure priorities."

Through a continuous call for project submissions, ICIP is expected to support infrastructure needs in Manitoba into 2028. To submit a project under ICIP or to learn more about the program, visit http://manitoba.ca/icip.
