Amanda McLeod is the Female Vice Director at the Pembina Valley Minor Hockey Association, she joined the morning show Friday morning to tell us about their need for coaches.

The PVMHA is looking for coaches for their U18 and U15 male and female hockey teams. McLeod talked about the experience of being a AAA coach.

"It's demanding. There's a lot of time and there's a lot of pressure as a coach, you need to be able to guide them, give them advice, be able to brief them on the next level and how to take their game to the next level "

Applicants will need to have their HP1 certification and have a passion for the game. Of course, there will be resources available to all coaches through the new AAA Council, McLeod explained what that council is.

"It's essentially a group of people from the Pembina Valley area. Who have coached at higher levels, have played at higher levels and know what it takes to get your game to the higher level. The idea is to put them in place so that they can help work on development for players and also development for coaches so that there's a bit of a sounding board and the coaches aren't alone."
