A driver will be paying a hefty fine, after complaints were filed and addressed by Winkler police last week Monday.

Officers received two separate complaints regarding a vehicle drifting and doing “donuts” on two different parking lots, both of which had the potential of children being nearby.

Police later located the driver of the vehicle and issued him two tickets for Driving Carelessly. Each ticket carries a fine of $672.

Winkler Police would also like to remind the public to take extra caution when driving in the winter months, especially when roads are slippery and snow covered.

In its weekly report, the Winkler Police Service noted its members were dispatched to multiple motor vehicle accidents over the reporting period of January 17th to January 23th due to slippery road conditions.
