The semifinals are set in the Zone 4 High School Hockey League playoffs. Portage Collegiate will meet the Pembina Tigers and the Morden Thunder will take on the Morris Mavericks. Alex Van Deynze had three goals and an assist as PCI downed the Mountain Mustangs 5-3. Max Jago and Grady Ross had two goals each as Pembina beat the Miller Aces 6-1. The Trojans and Tigers swept those best-of-three quarterfinals in two straight.


The Pembina Valley Hawks season is over. The Winnipeg Avros blanked the Hawks 2-0 and swept the best-of-five Manitoba Female U18 AAA Hockey League quarterfinal in three straight games.


Ty Love scored a pair of shorthanded goals and drew an assist on Sebastien Hicks’ third period marker as Pembina Valley shutout the Kenora Thistles 3-0. Bryson Yaschyshyn made 32 saves in recording the shutout. The Hawks play their regular season finale Wednesday against the defending Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League champion Wild in Winnipeg.


The Winkler Flyers were shutout for the second game in a row. Swan Valley’s Kobe Grant made 47 saves as the Stampeders defeated the Flyers 3-0 at the Centennial Arena.


Derek Wiebe scored the overtime winner as Pembina Valley shaded the Fort Garry/Fort Rouge Twins 3-2. Riley Goertzen and Caelan Russell scored in regulation for the Twisters.


The Winnipeg Jets dropped a 4-2 decision to New Jersey. Cole Perfetti and Neal Pionk did the goal scoring for the Jets lead 2-1 after the first period.


The Manitoba Moose lost 5-4 in a shootout to the Grand Rapids Griffins. Wyatt Bongiovanni, Leon Gawanke, Jansen Harkins and Axel Jonsson-Fjallby each had a goal and an assist for the Moose.


Kerri Einarson has a 3-0 record, Jennifer Jones and Kaitlyn Lawes are 2-1 and Meghan Walter is 1-2 at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Kamloops.
