Once a week Marcella Towle from Greenridge, Manitoba packs up her leather ball glove, an aluminium bat, and heads to the slo-pitch diamond in Winnipeg. Last weekend however Edmonton, and the Ernie Jackson Classic, was the destination for the senior slo-picth player that loves to be on the diamond. Towle plays second base, can be put in the line-up as a catcher or pitcher, and shares why she loves the game.

She adds she plays ball every week, and explains her season is not over. This fall Towle is travelling to Nashville with her friends from Vancouver for a 70 plus tournament.

Towle encourages all ball players to keep active, and enjoy the game. She adds if you stop it's harder to get back out there, but all interested players should give it a shot.
