Winkler's Cruisin Car Show returned Sunday, August 8th, for another parade-style car show. Heading down the streets of Winkler, this time, many local folks lined the streets to watch in person! Others, took in the livestream.

The idea to use a "parade" format for this car-show came from Father-daughter duo Chomper and Jayme Giesbrecht. Realizing in early Summer, that the usual Winkler Harvest Festival Car Show that Chomper has organized for many years, would not be able to happen, due to Public Health Regulations.

Seeing that parades and livestreams were doable, the wheels started turning...quite literally. Approximately 160 vehicles showed up for the first parade in May, and nearly the same amount for the August date. From classic cars to modern imports, and some fun "in-between" entries, it was quite entertaining for car enthusiasts far and wide. The vehicles gathered at Winkler's Parkland Stage for a small show and shine after the event.

Will we see more parade-style Car Shows in the future? Chomper says maybe. While he's looking forward to organizing the regular car-shows once again, this may be a fun addition to make it accessible for everyone.
