The Winnipeg Blue Bombers released seven players on Tuesday including wide receiver/kick returner Travis Shelton. Shelton, who suffered a hamstring injury in training camp, was attempting to make the team as a kick returner but struggled in Sunday's loss to the Tiger-Cats in Hamilton. The other players let go were linebackers Giancarlo Rapanaro, SaMario Houston and Rian Wallace, defensive back Jason Tate, defensive lineman Jarrell Chandler and offensive lineman John Hashem. Winnipeg head coach Paul LaPolice has until 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon to declare his 46 player roster and seven-member practice squad. The Blue Bombers will open the 2010 Canadian Football League season at home on July 2nd against Hamilton.
