Emergency crews were diverting traffic along Highway 32 from South Railway to Cargill road Tuesday, after a semi accidentally took down a hydro line.

Winkler Fire Chief Richard Paetzold said the line was lying over the railway tracks and highway. After Manitoba Hydro arrived, the scene was cleaned up quickly.

A few hours later, two cars collided at the interstion of Hwy 32 and Roblin Ave. E. One car held two women, the other a woman and a man. An ambulance attended the scene and treated the two women who were able to walk to the ambulance.

There is no word on the exact circumstance of the accident. Local police are investigating.

Traffic was diverted away from a section Hwy 32 for a short time as the downed power line was cleaned up.
