COVID-19 was unable to stop the Legends Car Club from holding its annual Drive For Cancer this year.

The event normally takes place in May but had to be postponed until September 19 due to the pandemic.

Club spokesman Lyle Dunsmore says they had about 35 to 40 classic cars join them in this year's cancer run and close to $20,000 was raised. Those funds will be used to support South Central Cancer Care.

"I think things went spectacular. We had a gorgeous day, good people and some good cars ... all for a very good cause that serves everybody in need."

This year's route started in Altona, with lunch in Carman, a stop in Manitou and Winkler and back to Altona.
