The $1.5 million Lowe Farm lagoon expansion project is experiencing some delays.

RM of Morris Reeve Ralph Groening says they are waiting to receive an environmental license to move ahead with the project.

"We are ready to go, we have awarded the contract," he said. "We have the plans in place, we have the engineering done, we simply need to have the environmental license, which is being held up because there are...folks who feel they must review and then re-review the regulations on our relatively simple proposal. It's a frustrating process, and we hope soon to be able to move on with the job. For the moment we're stopped."

The cost of the project is being split evenly between all three levels of government.

Groening is hoping to see the lagoon expansion come in below what was budgeted.

"The tender bids though did come in significantly below engineered costs, so we're hoping that the project will be able to be completed for somewhat less than the $1.5 million."
