The manager of the Redboine Watershed District is looking forward to the possibilities some additional funding may mean for them.

Earlier this month, the province announced a $353,000 increase over previous years to support watershed districts. The Manitoba government announced it would provide a total of $5.873 million support of the districts

Redboine Watershed District Manager, Justin Reid says trying to fill in the holes where they don't have municipal membership has been their focus. He says this additional money will help them do that.

"We were pretty excited...we knew it was being talked about, but we were pretty surprised to see it happen so quickly after the original realignment of our boundaries."

Reid says they've had some really good conversations, and they know there are a number of municipalities that are ready to come on board. He says they're looking forward to working through that process, and developing a plan that will fit everyone.

The following are some samples of the projects that Redboine WD has been involved with, with photos all courtesty of Justin Reid.
