Morden Police dealt with a number of violent and potentially violent incidents recently.

On October 26th, police were dispatched to a local establishment regarding an intoxicated male, when asked to leave the business, he informed the staff he had a knife.

Police attended the area and located the male who was highly intoxicated. Subsequent checks found the male to be on conditions to not consume alcohol. The 25-year-old male was arrested and charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance and Fail to Comply with Undertaking and was remanded into custody.

The following day, police received a report of an assault, which occurred at a residence in Morden on October 26th. Police learned a male assaulted and choked another male causing him to black out.

As a result of an investigation, a 35-year-old male was arrested and charged with Assault and Choke to Overcome Resistance and was remanded into custody. He will be appearing in Portage Provincial Court.
