After a long and challenging school year, the students of Ecole Elmwood School in Altona were able to let loose on the final day of classes.

Members of Altona Rhineland Emergency Services (ARES) used the department's ladder truck to create a splash zone in the schoolyard Tuesday afternoon. Designated groups of students took turns excitedly running through the spray created overhead.

"It was a perfect day to enjoy the sunshine, play in the water, and celebrate the hard work of our students and staff," said Principal Scott Hiebert. "A big thank you to the fire department volunteers for making sure everyone got soaked!"
